Attending a conference, meeting clients or negotiating a contract in the USA? The B1 business visitor visa (usually issued together as B1/B2) covers these short business trips.
What B1 allows
Typical permitted activities:
- Business meetings and consultations
- Conferences and trade shows
- Contract negotiations
- Short training that isn't paid US work
What it does not allow
B1 is not a work visa. Paid employment in the USA needs a different category such as H-1B or L-1.
Helpful documents
Employer letter explaining the trip, invitation from the US company or event, and proof the employer covers costs.
Interview tips
Clearly explain who you are meeting, why and when you return to your UAE job. Always confirm current rules on the official US Department of State and US Embassy UAE websites, as requirements and fees can change. Global Migratz is independent and not affiliated with the US government.
