What should I prepare for my US visa interview?

Know your genuine travel purpose, intended length of stay, how you will fund the trip and your personal circumstances. Review your submitted application and appointment instructions. A consular officer decides eligibility; no consultant can supply an answer that guarantees approval.

How Global Migratz can help

Application familiarity

Review the real details you submitted so you understand your own application.

Document readiness

Organise relevant documents and review the instructions for your interview location.

Your enquiry is handled by the Global Migratz team led by Raghav Tangri. Ask for the exact scope, full written quote and payment/refund terms before payment. Optional service charges are separate from government visa fees.

Common US visitor visa interview topics

For a B1/B2 interview, an officer may ask why you are travelling, how long you intend to stay, who is paying and what you do in the UAE. These are preparation topics, not a fixed question list. The officer may ask different questions or request supporting evidence.

Explain your own plans in straightforward language. If you do not know a detail, do not invent it. Never claim a job, income, relationship or travel history that you cannot truthfully explain.

Documents for Dubai and Abu Dhabi interviews

Start with the document requirements and security instructions in your own appointment confirmation and the official UAE visa guidance. Relevant additional documents depend on the category and circumstances; carrying a large file does not guarantee approval.

Prepare accurate material that can support your travel purpose, ability to pay and intention to leave after the visit. Do not purchase fabricated bank statements, employment letters or invitations.

Preparing after a 214(b) refusal

A refusal under section 214(b) relates to eligibility for the nonimmigrant visa, including overcoming the presumption of immigrant intent where applicable. It is not reversed by learning a better script.

Review the refusal explanation and whether your circumstances or evidence have materially changed before considering another application. Our guidance is not an appeal, a government decision or a promise that a new interview will succeed.

Visitor, student and other visa categories

Preparation should match your category. Visitor travel, study and employment have different purposes and requirements. Tell us the category on your application rather than using visitor-visa answers for a student or work interview.

For students, study plans and funding may be relevant. For work-related cases, the applicable petition and category instructions matter. We confirm what assistance we can provide before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Can interview preparation guarantee US visa approval?

No. Preparation can help you understand your application and communicate clearly. Only the US consular officer decides whether you qualify.

Do you provide answers to memorise?

No. Answers must describe your real circumstances. We focus on understanding questions and explaining genuine facts clearly, not providing an approval script.

What should I take to my US visa interview?

Follow your appointment confirmation and official category instructions. A passport and DS-160 confirmation are commonly part of the process, with additional requirements depending on your case.

Are interviews in Dubai and Abu Dhabi identical?

Both apply US visa rules, but location procedures and appointment instructions can differ. Use the instructions for the post shown on your own confirmation.

Can you help after a previous refusal?

You can enquire about reviewing the stated refusal reason and your application circumstances. We cannot overturn a decision or guarantee a different outcome.
